Highly recommended.
I’m thrilled … [its] looks blend seamlessly with the rest of the radio, and, most important, it provides noticeable improvement in heat dissipation under extended periods of digital mode operation.  I am able to use higher RF power without causing the finals to rise above the high-temperature output reduction point.  The slight increase in weight and physical size are far outweighed by the cooling improvement.
I have been operating JT65-HF with the KX3 the last few months.  Prior to installation while running JT65-HF at 10 W, the KX3 would give a high temp warning and adjust power down to 5 W about 30 seconds into the 45 seconds transmission.  Since installing the heatsink, the KX3 stays at 10 W during the full transmission of JT65-HF contacts [45 seconds] and does not give a high temperature warning.  I have operated for hours on end with no issues.
… a great product.  My KX-3 now runs a heck of a lot cooler and I’m sure that this modification will help extended the radio’s service life, too.
